KING: worried and anxious because Princess May will not consider marrying any of the princes he presents to her
QUEEN: supportive of King in his efforts to find a husband for Princess May
PRINCESS MAY: ill-tempered and difficult to please
PRINCE of MONROVIA, PRINCE of MOLDOVIA, PRINCE of BARONIA, PRINCE of PASTONIA, PRINCE of MARONIA, PRINCE of DULDONIA: suitors invited by King and Queen to meet Princess May
FIRST PRINCESS, SECOND PRINCESS, THIRD PRINCESS, FOURTH PRINCESS, FIFTH PRINCESS, SIXTH PRINCESS: sisters of Princess May who would like to marry the suitors she rejects
MERLIN: magician who turns Frog into a handsome Young Man
COURTIERS: in attendance
Songs are sung by everyone in chorus, with solos for Princess May, King, Queen, and Frog, and a dance for Frog.
